Tech Check & Protest Procedures
TECH
CHECK
1.)
A Tech Check may be conducted at any time after a vehicle has been
entered in a class to pull.. Tech check will be conducted by a board member or
authorized representative.
2.) Violations observed during a tech check will result in the same consequences as formal protest.
GENERAL
PROTEST PROCEDURES
Protest
fee is $250.00 (CASH)
1.)
General protest does not include tearing down an engine.
2.)
Protest must be made before first machine pulls in the following class.
3.)
Protest fee of $250.00 must be taken to two senior board members present
and specific protest reason given.
4.)
Investigation shall be done before the end of the night.
5.)
The following individuals shall be present during investigation: 2 board
members, protested person and pit crew, and pump operator and/or tech
representative.
6.)
If during investigation, additional violations are discovered that were
not a part of original reason for protest, the vehicle will still be
disqualified.
7.)
If the protested vehicle is found to be illegal, all prize money for that
pull and points for the year are lost. The
protestor is returned his protest fee.
8.)
If the protested vehicle is found to be legal, he/she (the protested
vehicle) keeps the protest fee and all prize money, if any is involved.
9.)
If protested party does not show up at inspection site or does not agree
to be inspected; the engine, vehicle, and owner will be suspended for 1 year and
1 day from that date.
ENGINE
PROTEST PROCEDURE
1.)
To protest an engine the protester must give a board member a protest fee
of $500 dollars cash .
2.)
Protest must be made before first vehicle in next class hooks to the
sled.
3.)
The protested vehicle will then be taken to a neutral location for
inspection (disassembled and measured for engine cubic inch). If vehicle is
taken to a neutral location, inspection time can be agreed upon at a later date.
4.)
If all parties involved cannot agree upon a neutral location, vehicle is
disqualified for 1 year and 1 day .
5.)
If protested engine is LEGAL, protested party keeps the $500 protest fee
and all prize money, if any is involved.
6.)
If the protested engine is ILLEGAL the protester gets the $500 protest
fee back; and the engine, vehicle, and owner will be suspended for 1 year and 1
day from the date of inspection, and all prize money is forfeited..
7.)
If protested party does not show up at inspection site or does not agree
to be inspected; the engine, vehicle, and owner will be suspended for 1 year and
1 day from that date.
8.)
The MMTTPA Board reserves the right to randomly pump truck engines
at any time during the pulling season.
9.)
The following violations will result in a 1 year and 1 day suspension
:
a.)
Use of nitrous oxide.
b.)
Use of alcohol in classes where prohibited.
c.)
Oversized engine.
d.)
Illegal flywheel, bell housing, blocker saver plate.
ENFORCEMENT
SCHEDULE
1.)
The driver and vehicle shall be suspended for 8 hooks for the first
violation. This includes loss of points, and credit for hooks to date.
2.)
The driver and vehicle shall be suspended for 1 year and 1 day for a
second violation.
